In an interview with NDTV, N. V. Ramananathan, the Chief Social Secretary at the Department of Social Welfare and Development of the Department Of Social Welfare And Development, said, We have had several attempts to destroy the card.
It has been attacked by the opposition.
The Social Welfare Department has made sure that every card is destroyed.
The card is a unique number, which means it is a permanent document and the government cannot just destroy it.
So it is very important that we destroy it, Ramananath said.
This card has been used in every state of the country.
It was issued for the people to show that they are citizens and citizens are entitled to their own social security.

V Narasimha Rao said the government is doing everything to safeguard the card, and that it will take necessary action to ensure that the card is not tampered with.
We are working hard to ensure a smooth operation of the card and that no social security fraud takes place.
The card has to be used for every citizen, he said.
